This autumn, we are praying that the Lord God Almighty would do a powerful thing in the hearts of our ladies who gather to study His Word together! Starting on Thursday, September 20th, ladies will gather at 7pm to study the Bible, enjoy fellowship, and learn through the book None Like Him: 10 Ways God is Different From Us (And Why That’s A Good Thing) by Jen Wilkin. Will you be one of the ladies at this Bible study with them?!
Please come to the church at 7pm, bring your Bible, and a heart that is eager to grow in who God is and what He has done for you! Copies of None Like Him will be provided. This will be a terrific time learning about the Lord together, and is open to Zion women in senior high and older.
Jen Wilkin talks about why a study like this would be helpful:
Wilkin writes that thinking about God’s character is “intensely practical. Our daily lives would look very different if we took God’s character into consideration.” Thinking about who God is, she says,
should elicit a worshipful awe from us that causes us to see and embrace our limitedness in light of His limitlessness. And we are better able to worship Him. If you’re looking for a book to use for a small group discussion time, or just for personal reflection or growth, I’ve structured the book with that in mind… But however you use the book, I hope you’ll see God’s character emerge from the [S]criptures with greater clarity, and that you’ll be drawn to worship Him anew as you meditate on His perfections.
If you are still wondering about the book, you can find an excerpt of her book for free right here. Questions? Don’t hesitate to contact us!

There you are, working through your daily Bible reading, when you come across a section that seems frustrating. Unending, unpronounceable names. A family lineage of unfamiliar, seemingly insignificant relations. If you’re reading in the King James Version, the word “begat” appears a lot.
On Sunday, July 8, we will be installing Derek Cozine to the ministry of Gospel service to our youth at Zion. Derek and his wife Angela have moved to Garner from Wisconsin with their two daughters. They have been getting settled in their new home, and Derek has started his work at the church.

Every summer, we want to disciple our young people to value and participate in missions. One way we want to encourage this is through our summer mission trip. This year, over twenty senior high students and adult chaperones are
