The Holy Spirit is – as we confess with mouth & heart in the Nicene Creed – the Lord and Giver of Life. Everyone today is looking for better life. We want the “abundant life” that Jesus promised. And God’s Word explains that this life is found in His Spirit! We rejoice at Pentecost to remember that God has poured out His Spirit in His Church.
Do you know the difference between the biblical event of Pentecost, and what happens in some circles of Pentecostalism? Knowing this differences is the difference between truth and error, living in the Spirit and getting trapped in a maze. Pentecost was an Old Testament event that points to the Greater Pentecost!
When you understand Pentecost and the Spirit, it changes your prayer life. Understanding Pentecost changes your view of the end of days. It helps us understand what was different about the Old Testament, and how we have the Spirit in the New.
