Sermon: Wrestling with God from Genesis 32

In our “Persevering Promises: God’s Relentless Grace in the Patriarchs” we look at the Gospel According to Genesis. We see that the same gracious promises that sustained God’s servants then is for us too as we trust by faith in Christ. In Genesis 32, Jacob is attacked by a mystery assailant. The resulting midnight wrestling match leaves Jacob wounded and weak, and leaves us to detect: who was his Attacker? And why did He attack Jacob? The answer to these riddles points us to Christ, who gives to all who believe in Him a wound, a new identity, and a blessing.
