Thanksgiving 2025

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! We have so much to be grateful for, and we acknowledge that all good gifts come from the Father of lights (James 1:17)! Are you growing in gratitude? Fix your eyes on Jesus together with us as we demonstrate our thanfulness this time of year.

To help you give thanks this year, we want you to remember the following:

Pack OCC Boxes
Come pack Operation Christmas Child boxes with our Sunday school students! Donations are due, and we will be packing, on Sunday, Nov 15th, starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

New Life Thanksgiving
Our New Life program gives thanks on Wednesday, Nov 19, with our free Thanksgiving feast beginning at 5:30 p.m. Invite a friend and come join us. Bring a dessert to share!

Thanksgiving Sunday
Our covenant liturgy for Thanksgiving Sunday will be Nov 23rd, and you are invited to worship on Christ the King Sunday. Sunday school for all ages at 9:15, worship at 10:30. This is our last Sunday before Advent begins on Nov 30.

Community Movie at The Avery
On Tuesday, Nov 25th, you’re invited to kick off the holiday season with a free movie at the Avery! Free will offerings go to youth missions. “Best Christmas Pageant Ever” has a terrific message to focus us on God’s grace this year! Invite a friend who wouldn’t come to church to the movies and talk over popcorn about the grace of Jesus!

Community Thanksgiving Meal
For those who have no place to go, and for those who love to celebrate with community, the Garner Ministerial is hosting the Community Thanksgiving Meal. This year it is held at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Zion members have been asked to bring a salad (follow directions in the Narthex).

Whether with our community or with your family, enjoy pausing to give thanks to the Lord Most High!
