Babylon: VBS 2012 is Here!
Summer is upon us, and it is time to gather in fun and praise the Lord with VBS. Our VBS this year will go from May 29 – June 1 (Tuesday – Friday), from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. We’d like to personally invite you and your kids to join us at Zion for a week filled with fun activities, a focus on God’s grace in Jesus Christ, and great fellowship as well!

2012: We’re Not in Iowa, Toto!
The theme for our VBS this year is Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity. We’ll be looking at how God’s love for us in Christ Jesus is so amazing, from the Bible stories, to the songs… even the crafts and snacks help remind us! We’ll be learning from Psalm 139 how God has fearfully and wonderfully made us, and what He plans for each of us. 
This psalms says, For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb…All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. You can read more here.
Who can come?
If you’ve completed one year of Sunday School, or if you are 4 years old or older, come join us! We’d love to have you! If you are in jr. or senior high school, maybe you’d like to come help. We have all sorts of ways you can help: from organizing games and treats, to assisting the teams of kids as they go the different stations, or helping other leaders with singing, movies, or more! We also need more adult volunteers, so if you’re interested in helping or purchasing supplies, contact the church.
Registering Your Child for VBS
There are three ways you can register.
- When you are at the church, look for Registration sheets on the back table in the Narthex, outside of the sanctuary. Fill out a Registration sheet for your child (or children), and give it to the pastor or put it in the church office.
- Download a Registration sheet right here off our site. Print it and fill it out, and then drop it off at the church. Or, fill it out on your computer and email it as an attachment. Click here for the Registration sheet.
- Perhaps the easiest method is to register online! Click here to go to our VBS Registration page and fill out the proper fields. Click the submit button, and you’re done! Please note, you have to fill out the online registration form once per child.
What Will My Child Do?
At Babylon 2012, kids will learn about God’s wild love – a fact that will change them forever! Babylon is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Crafts, team-building games, Bible songs, and tasty treats are just a few of the activities that help faith flow into real life. Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and safe shoes. Your kids will participate with others and learn to get along while having a wild time! Parents are invited to pick their kids up around 11:30 every morning.
Your child will travel to different stations in a group of kids that will sure to become friends. Each crew of kids and families will have some Crew Leaders to provide supervision, and all of the activities are designed to be kid safe with adults at every station. These adults want to share God’s love through games, skits, video clips and treats, so your kids will learn to love their time at Babylon 2012!
